Shattered: Free September 2009 Calendar Wallpaper

This post is part of the free calendar wallpaper series. Each month I create a new wallpaper featuring the current calendar. Looking at the same image over and over again is not very stimulating. Hence having a new desktop background each month should help getting your creative juices flowing. September 09 Calendar Wallpaper is entitled “Shattered” and comes in two different colour schemes.

The September 2009 calendar wallpaper comes in the following resolutions and as always non-calendar versions are also included:

  • 1920×1200 (suitable for 1440×900)
  • 1600×1200
  • 1280×1024
  • 320×479 (iPhone, non-calendar version only)

  1. I love the depth that this has – any chance you’d share your process on how this was created?

  2. @Niki: Thanks. I’m really glad you like it. As for the process I made the triangular shapes in Illustrator by copying, scaling and rotating 4-5 different shapes to get the overall composition. Each triangle had a simple light to dark grey gradient. In Photoshop I added the colours (Soft Light blending mode) and used different paper textures to give it a more organic feel. Overall the process was very random which is why it’s hard to explain in more detail.

  3. love the shattered effect! hmm. i need to find a tutorial on how to get this effect. cool~
