Patrick Monkel is a freelance graphic designer from the Netherlands who works under the name of Monk Studio. You might have come across his website which has been featured in many “minimal webdesign showcases”. Today, I want to focus on Patrick’s actual design work. His style is very popular at the moment, using all the lightning techniques many want to learn. What I like most about the work is that Patrick Monkel manages to get very vibrant images with the use of mute colours. This just goes to show the amazing talent of this outstanding designer. The use of lighting really lifts these images. Especially like the Stripes trainer poster and the subtle lighting in the Animals of Nature. Amazing what a bit of lighting can do to an image.
