FYI Monday: Retro Pop Art by Justin van Genderen

This post is part of the For Your Inspiration Monday Series showcasing the most inspiring designs out there. Each week a new artist or design style will be presented in order to get your creative juices flowing for the upcoming week. I hope you enjoy the series.
Justin van Genderen is based in Chicago and has been working as a graphic illustrator and designer for the last 10 years. While working for some big clients I decided to focus on his personal projects in his showcase. A lot of his works have clear pop culture reference and a beautiful retro feel to them. I highly suggest that you visit his official site for more inspiration. This is where he not only showcase more retro/vintage designs, but also amazing photo manipulations and commercial works. Which is your favourite piece?

  6. Time Machine has to be the favourite here, I remember countless viewings of the Back to the Future films. I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of the grunge effect. It makes such a dramatic difference by changing the whole feel of an image. The typography is brilliant and I love the simplicity. These would make a great poster collection to treasure.
