FYI Monday: Retro Pop Art by Justin van Genderen
This post is part of the For Your Inspiration Monday Series showcasing the most inspiring designs out there. Each week a new artist or design style will be presented in order to get your creative juices flowing for the upcoming week. I hope you enjoy the series.
Justin van Genderen is based in Chicago and has been working as a graphic illustrator and designer for the last 10 years. While working for some big clients I decided to focus on his personal projects in his showcase. A lot of his works have clear pop culture reference and a beautiful retro feel to them. I highly suggest that you visit his official site for more inspiration. This is where he not only showcase more retro/vintage designs, but also amazing photo manipulations and commercial works. Which is your favourite piece?

Amazing work, love the Time Machine one. Grungy!
Absolutely love them all! The aging effect is brilliant… plus I themes are films that I really like.
Thanks for sharing
Nice works
His work is very creative! Weird but creative
Very talented! He uses a great combination of textures, colours and lighting effects. I love his Japanese Anime Scrolls, simplistic and effective!
Time Machine has to be the favourite here, I remember countless viewings of the Back to the Future films. I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of the grunge effect. It makes such a dramatic difference by changing the whole feel of an image. The typography is brilliant and I love the simplicity. These would make a great poster collection to treasure.
Looks so good ,amaazing!
