Looking Glass: Free December 2010 Calendar Wallpaper

December 2010 Wallpaper Thumbnail

This post is part of the free calendar wallpaper series. Each month I create a new wallpaper featuring the current calendar. Looking at the same image over and over again is not very stimulating. Hence having a new desktop background each month should help getting your creative juices flowing. The December 2010 Calendar Wallpaper is entitled “Looking Glass”. As you can see I’m a big fan of geometric shapes and once again have chosen to go with a minimal circular design. I used a couple stock photos of winter landscapes and mixed them with different vector overlays to give it more depth. In terms of colour scheme I went with cool blues and greens which nicely reflect the season upon us (as a matter of fact we had the first snow in London while I was working on this). Feel free to leave a comment with your feedback and if you like it then why not share it with your friends. Thanks! + Continue Reading

Nathan Shinkle Thumbnail

This post is part of the For Your Inspiration Monday Series showcasing the most inspiring designs out there. Each week a new artist or design style will be presented in order to get your creative juices flowing for the upcoming week. I hope you enjoy the series.
Nathan Shinkle is self-proclaimed creative professional from Indianapolis though he’s worked under the titles of graphic designer, artist, interactive designer, t-shirt guy… to name just a few. Recently he’s been swept up by Adidas where he works as Senior Designer. Nathan’s work has a very minimal vintage feel to it and reminds me of artists such as Scott Hansen, with the difference that he leans more towards the illustration side of this style. I hope you enjoy Nathan’s gorgeous artwork as much as I do. For more inspiration please visit his portfolio. You can also find him on Twitter. + Continue Reading
