FYI Monday: Surreal Illustrations by Daniel Mackie
This post is part of the For Your Inspiration Monday series showcasing the most inspiring designs out there. Each week a new artist or design style will be presented in order to get your creative juices flowing for the upcoming week. I hope you enjoy the series.
Daniel Mackie is an award-winning illustrator based in London, UK. He’s worked with some of the biggest clients such as Adobe, The Economist, The Financial Times and Virgin. What I like most about Daniel’s illustrations is the surrealist nature of them. Combine that with a great sense of humour and you’ve got yourself a winner! Very nice painting. I like it.
I am really impressed by these. I love the style and ‘real’ quality they have about their creation. I like that they are imperfect – you can see the brush strokes and they have a somewhat dirty quality to them. This only enhances the statements they are making and the messages within the images. I think my favourite being the Rocket design – giant political statement wrapped up in a neat little illustration.
