This post is part of the free calendar wallpaper series. Each month I create a new wallpaper featuring the current calendar. Looking at the same image over and over again is not very stimulating. Hence having a new desktop background each month should help getting your creative juices flowing.
The September 2012 Calendar Wallpaper is called Eye. After last month’s rather busy layout I’ve decided to go back to my roots and design a minimal geometric desktop background like I often do. However, there’s something new! Starting today you can download Retina Display versions for all platforms! As always, I hope you like the design. Feel free to comment on it and share it with friends and lovers. + Continue Reading

The August 2012 Calendar Wallpaper goes by the name of Bold. As with most of my personal designs this one happened by pure (rather happy) accident. I usually play around with simple geometric shapes, combining them until it appeals to me. Next step is to blend in colours or photographs, both in this case, and see where it leads. Anyways, enough rambling, enjoy the free wallpaper! + Continue Reading

The July 2012 Calendar Wallpaper is called Kingdom, for no other reason than the name coming into my mind when designing. The background uses a couple of landscape photographs from my recent road trip through the States. It’s mostly random though, just playing around with shapes and colours until I was happy to put it on my devices. I hope you like it. + Continue Reading

The June 2012 Calendar Wallpaper is called Iris. The design came about while playing with hexagonal shapes in Photoshop. The idea was to allude to June being the 6th month while only using geometric shapes. While I was planning on using warm colours for this wallpaper it turned out that the colder, blue tint worked best with the shapes. Another thing to note is that this wallpaper features the first week of July as well, just in case I won’t be able to release next month’s design in time. I hope you like it. + Continue Reading

Hence having a new desktop background each month should help getting your creative juices flowing. The May 2012 Calendar Wallpaper is entitled Isometry. The design is very minimal as I wanted to concentrate purely on the type this time round. It’s a custom font I created using only isometric triangles. While I’ve finished the uppercase letters I’m currently working on numbers and possibly lowercase letters too. Depending on your feedback I’ll release it as a proper font. Hopefully you’ll enjoy it as much as I do! + Continue Reading

Hence having a new desktop background each month should help getting your creative juices flowing. The April 2012 Calendar Wallpaper is entitled Radar. After using a lot of lines and angles in previous wallpapers I felt it was time to go back to my loved circle for this design. The design is split into 4, representing the 4th month as well as the four seasons. The lime colour was a conscious choice to relate to Spring. Everything else is pretty much random and should be classified under ‘happy accidents’. I hope you enjoy it! + Continue Reading

Hence having a new desktop background each month should help getting your creative juices flowing. The March 2012 Calendar Wallpaper is entitled M. The geometric pattern was created using only the the letter M, duplicated and blended together to create the intricate composition of triangles. I didn’t want it to be too obvious though which is why I introduced a lot of white space into design. The colour green was chosen for accents, after all this is a spring wallpaper and it shouldn’t be too dark. Enjoy! + Continue Reading
