The idea behind the design is of temporal and seasonal nature. August is the “summer month” and as such centric to the seasons. Using the chosen colour scheme I tried to convey the feeling of the different seasons leading up to and lying ahead of the hottest month in the year. The rectangles don’t have a meaning though. I’m pleased to release these new freebies: 12 free bicycle silhouette vectors. With the Tour de France in full speed and hitting the first serious mountain stage today there’s no better time to get your hands on these beautiful bike vectors. I’m a huge fan of the TdF and it’s great to see two riders from Luxembourg in the top 5. As you can imagine there aren’t many sport discipline where I can root for someone from my home country, let alone 2.
The set contains vectors of racing bikes, BMX, tandems as well as some bicycle pictograms. While I don’t ride a bike myself, like many designers I’m in love with the shape and geometry of bicycles. There’s something intrinsically beautiful about their clean, minimal lines. + Continue Reading

This desktop background uses a lot of vibrant colours and textures to really make it pop. Many of the details have been hand drawn in Photoshop, while the main elements have all been assembled in Illustrator using a mix of gradients and blending modes. This latest freebies set contains 17 High Resolution Clouds Photoshop Brushes. The brushes are between 2300px to 2500px large which makes them ideal for both print and web projects. These brushes were sitting on my computer for a while now and I always forgot to release them. They can be used in a variety of ways such as for adding cosmic and nebulae elements to your designs. Why not alter them using the warp and smudge tools in Photoshop. Alternatively you could create simple backgrounds with these for your design. Feel free to share your experiments with us! The triangular shapes were created in Illustrator, while the circles were made in Photoshop CS5 using the new 3D options.
