Looking Glass: Free December 2010 Calendar Wallpaper

December 2010 Wallpaper Thumbnail

This post is part of the free calendar wallpaper series. Each month I create a new wallpaper featuring the current calendar. Looking at the same image over and over again is not very stimulating. Hence having a new desktop background each month should help getting your creative juices flowing. The December 2010 Calendar Wallpaper is entitled “Looking Glass”. As you can see I’m a big fan of geometric shapes and once again have chosen to go with a minimal circular design. I used a couple stock photos of winter landscapes and mixed them with different vector overlays to give it more depth. In terms of colour scheme I went with cool blues and greens which nicely reflect the season upon us (as a matter of fact we had the first snow in London while I was working on this). Feel free to leave a comment with your feedback and if you like it then why not share it with your friends. Thanks! + Continue Reading

Fallen Leaves: Free November 2010 Calendar Wallpaper

November 2010 Wallpaper Thumbnail

This post is part of the free calendar wallpaper series. Each month I create a new wallpaper featuring the current calendar. Looking at the same image over and over again is not very stimulating. Hence having a new desktop background each month should help getting your creative juices flowing. The November 2010 Calendar Wallpaper is entitled “Fallen Leaves” as a reference to the start of Autumn. I chose the colour palette to reflect these leaves falling from the trees. Using the circles I tried to convey the idea of seasons coming and going, blending into each other seamlessly. So there you go, that’s the concept behind the design. I hope you like it. Feel free to leave a comment with your feedback and to share it with your friends. Thanks! + Continue Reading

Hence having a new desktop background each month should help getting your creative juices flowing. The October 2010 Calendar Wallpaper is entitled “Low25″. It plays a lot with symmetries and uses a few different stock photos of mountains. The blue colour palette was chosen to remind us the coming colder months. It’s a bit different from my usual designs so I hope you like the minimal approach. Feel free to express your thoughts in the comment section. Thanks. + Continue Reading
