This post is part of the free calendar wallpaper series. Each month I create a new wallpaper featuring the current calendar. Looking at the same image over and over again is not very stimulating. Hence having a new desktop background each month should help getting your creative juices flowing. The June 2011 Calendar Wallpaper is entitled “Rise”. Same as last month I tried to build an abstract photography scenery. It was great fun blending different photos together and playing with colour schemes to come up with this abstract design. I hope you like it, and if you do, then please share it. Thanks! + Continue Reading

Hence having a new desktop background each month should help getting your creative juices flowing. The May 2011 Calendar Wallpaper is entitled “Gravity”. This time round I’ve tried to steer clear of my usual abstract / geometric designs and experiment with photography as the main element. The wallpaper still has the vintage touch I love so much. In terms of inspiration there’s simply too many sources to list. If you like it please do share. + Continue Reading

Hence having a new desktop background each month should help getting your creative juices flowing. The April 2011 Calendar Wallpaper is entitled “Source”. The triangular shapes were created in Illustrator, while the circles were made in Photoshop CS5 using the new 3D options. I tried to select a colour palette which I hadn’t used before and think that it works well with the overall composition. Please share it if you like it. + Continue Reading

Hence having a new desktop background each month should help getting your creative juices flowing. The March 2011 Calendar Wallpaper is entitled “III”. This is a play on March being the third month of the year. After last month’s monotone wallpaper it’s time to add colour to design again. As always the calendar wallpaper is heavily influenced by geometric shapes combined with grunge textures. I hope you like it. + Continue Reading

Hence having a new desktop background each month should help getting your creative juices flowing. The February 2011 Calendar Wallpaper is entitled “MonoRoute”. For once I tried to get rid of most the symmetries in the design as well as toning down all the colours. The design has been done entirely in Photoshop using only shapes and some textures for a more organic feel. I hope you like it. + Continue Reading

Hence having a new desktop background each month should help getting your creative juices flowing. The January 2011 Calendar Wallpaper is entitled “Sync”. The design is very minimal and geometric. On the one hand I really like the design, on the other hand I was under a lot of time constraints to finish this one. I hope you still enjoy it. + Continue Reading

Hence having a new desktop background each month should help getting your creative juices flowing. The December 2010 Calendar Wallpaper is entitled “Looking Glass”. As you can see I’m a big fan of geometric shapes and once again have chosen to go with a minimal circular design. I used a couple stock photos of winter landscapes and mixed them with different vector overlays to give it more depth. In terms of colour scheme I went with cool blues and greens which nicely reflect the season upon us (as a matter of fact we had the first snow in London while I was working on this). Hence having a new desktop background each month should help getting your creative juices flowing. The November 2010 Calendar Wallpaper is entitled “Fallen Leaves” as a reference to the start of Autumn. I chose the colour palette to reflect these leaves falling from the trees. Using the circles I tried to convey the idea of seasons coming and going, blending into each other seamlessly. So there you go, that’s the concept behind the design. I hope you like it.
