Gordon Reid is a London-based illustrator and designer working under the name of MiddleBoop. I’ve been following his work for a long time, back when he was mostly working with clients in the music industry. Gordon’s recently moved on to taking on ad agencies and working for bigger clients such as BBC, Red Bull, American Express and Puma. This recent update sees his style move on from the vector collage style he has become known for to working more on info graphics and design led projects integrating illustration around each piece. Kingdom: Free July 2012 Calendar Wallpaper

Thumbnail July 2012 Desktop Wallpaper

This post is part of the free calendar wallpaper series. Each month I create a new wallpaper featuring the current calendar. Looking at the same image over and over again is not very stimulating. Hence having a new desktop background each month should help getting your creative juices flowing.

The July 2012 Calendar Wallpaper is called Kingdom, for no other reason than the name coming into my mind when designing. The background uses a couple of landscape photographs from my recent road trip through the States. It’s mostly random though, just playing around with shapes and colours until I was happy to put it on my devices. I hope you like it. + Continue Reading

Iris: Free June 2012 Calendar Wallpaper

Thumbnail Free June 2012 Desktop Wallpaper by Fudgegraphics

This post is part of the free calendar wallpaper series. Each month I create a new wallpaper featuring the current calendar. Looking at the same image over and over again is not very stimulating. Hence having a new desktop background each month should help getting your creative juices flowing.

The June 2012 Calendar Wallpaper is called Iris. The design came about while playing with hexagonal shapes in Photoshop. The idea was to allude to June being the 6th month while only using geometric shapes. While I was planning on using warm colours for this wallpaper it turned out that the colder, blue tint worked best with the shapes. Another thing to note is that this wallpaper features the first week of July as well, just in case I won’t be able to release next month’s design in time. I hope you like it. + Continue Reading
