Barton Damer Thumbnail

This post is part of the For Your Inspiration Monday Series showcasing the most inspiring designs out there. Each week a new artist or design style will be presented in order to get your creative juices flowing for the upcoming week. I hope you enjoy the series.
Barton Damer is a digital artist from Dallas, TX. I like to describe his art as retro cosmic design, though there’s much more to it. By combining 3D typography with beautiful lightning effects and natural textures he creates stunning works. It comes as no surprise that he’s work with great bands and big skateboarding brands. One highlight of Barton’s career must have been when he was awarded the Digital Artist of the Year Award by Computer Arts, Intel, and 3d World Magazine in 2009. Looking Glass: Free December 2010 Calendar Wallpaper

December 2010 Wallpaper Thumbnail

This post is part of the free calendar wallpaper series. Each month I create a new wallpaper featuring the current calendar. Looking at the same image over and over again is not very stimulating. Hence having a new desktop background each month should help getting your creative juices flowing. The December 2010 Calendar Wallpaper is entitled “Looking Glass”. As you can see I’m a big fan of geometric shapes and once again have chosen to go with a minimal circular design. I used a couple stock photos of winter landscapes and mixed them with different vector overlays to give it more depth. In terms of colour scheme I went with cool blues and greens which nicely reflect the season upon us (as a matter of fact we had the first snow in London while I was working on this). Feel free to leave a comment with your feedback and if you like it then why not share it with your friends. Thanks! + Continue Reading

Fallen Leaves: Free November 2010 Calendar Wallpaper

November 2010 Wallpaper Thumbnail

This post is part of the free calendar wallpaper series. Each month I create a new wallpaper featuring the current calendar. Looking at the same image over and over again is not very stimulating. Hence having a new desktop background each month should help getting your creative juices flowing. The November 2010 Calendar Wallpaper is entitled “Fallen Leaves” as a reference to the start of Autumn. I chose the colour palette to reflect these leaves falling from the trees. Using the circles I tried to convey the idea of seasons coming and going, blending into each other seamlessly. So there you go, that’s the concept behind the design. I hope you like it. Feel free to leave a comment with your feedback and to share it with your friends. Thanks! + Continue Reading
