Textures can be used in many ways, either as a simply backdrop for an image or to blend with existing graphics to give it a more organic feel. So today I release 12 High Resolution Plain Fabric Textures. There should be something for everyone, there’s textures of wool, cotton, denim jeans and synthetics. On average they’re 2800px by 1900px. HDR stands for high dynamic range imaging. The HDR method basically involves making up an image from several different photographs of the same thing, all taken with different exposures. Photoshop or similar image editing software is then used to combine the photos to form one image, creating a greater dynamic range of luminances, which means starker contrasts between light and dark and much more vibrant colours.
HDR enhances natural colours and light levels, so it’s often hard for the viewer to tell that the HDR method has been employed. Some photographers, however, push things further to create completely distorted visual realities. It’s clear from the 24 photos below that HDR and wildlife photography is a winning combination, as the technique is capable of doing justice to the spectacular array of colours found in nature.
1. Tree Frog

Tree frogs are among the most colourful animals in the world. HDR only acts to enhance the brilliant green colour of this particular specimen.
2. Screech-Owl

Each whiskery feather is visible in this wonderful HDR photo of a screech-owl, taken in Florida. There are 21 known species of screech-owl and new ones are being discovered all the time. Read the rest of this entry »

Fabian Barral is a French graphic designer and photographer. He spends 10 hours a day in front of the computer while drinking an average of 5 cups of coffee (or so he claims). I can relate to that. I discovered Fabien Barral’s art through Graphic-Exchange, a site where he showcases his personal art as well as designs by his favourite designers. I spent quite a long time on this site discovering one masterpiece after another. If there was only one inspirational website in the world this would be it. Another great aspect of Graphic-Exchange is that Fabien invites you to trade art with him: some of your prints for some of his. I also admire the fact that Fabien doesn’t have RSS. He forces you to visit the site in order get the latest updates. This way the beautiful web design won’t go to waste. For more of his work visit his personal portfolio at Imaginary Moments. Here are some samples to get you started.

I can’t think of any site with more inspiration or resources than deviantArt. It is a must for everyone interested in design. The one feature I like the most is the favourite-service. Not only can you add artworks to your favourites, but you can sort them into different collections. I’ve compiled a list of the 14 greatest collections on deviantArt. The themes vary from typography, advertising to photography. There should be something for everyone. Assuming that each collection contains about 40 designs you’ll get 500+ (no guarantee) inspirational artworks. Enjoy!

I still can’t believe that I’ve stumbled onto the flickr site of this awesome photographer. Jose Javier‘s style is so unique to me and I am amazed by the beautiful color schemes and great composition. It’s never been so tough to make a selection of images. Every single photograph is outstanding. Usually I am not that easily impressed with photographs but his work blew me away instantaneously. I am over excited to present to you this exceptional photographer from Donosti/Basque Country. Make sure to have look at his blog as well!
